Rosie’s Alibi Workout Report

Rosie’s Alibi breezed over the turf for the first time this morning in company with Donegal Surges. The Todd Pletcher-trained 2-year-olds stopped the clock in 51.22 seconds. After the breeze, Todd said “This week was much better. After her breeze last week, I thought she struggled to find a hold of the dirt coming down the stretch. Today, she looked comfortable throughout the breeze and Adele never had to ask her to do much.” When asked about a possible race target, Todd thinks the Maiden Special Weight to be run at 1 1/16th miles on the turf on August 14th in Saratoga is good timing for her racing debut, pending all continues to go well with the filly’s training.

To give context to Rosie’s Alibi’s workout time today, she and her workmate were on the outside of the “dogs”, or cones, which were wider than usual due to heavy rain that fell yesterday afternoon. Rosie’s Alibi worked just after 10:15 today. Prior to that time, the turf course is open for stakes horses who are permitted to work inside the dogs.
