Moonlit Courage Workout Report

Moonlit Courage breezed a solo five furlongs in 1:02.20 yesterday morning at Santa Anita Park, which can be seen above. Upon talking to trainer Richard Mandella we have decided to alter race plans from next week and wait for a one-mile option on June 29th at Los Alamitos. This is a $50,000 maiden claiming race, but regardless we were going to put her in for the $50,000 tag next weekend in that auction maiden race if we opted to run.

The reason behind this is 1) she has underachieved to this point and does not have an appealing form line for someone to claim. 2) If she is going to succeed moving ahead, we need to open up additional conditions and this will open the starter allowance condition. 3) If she was claimed for $50,000, it’s an extremely fair price at this point given what she’s done.
