Magical Ways Update

X-rays were taken on Magical Ways this morning at Belmont Park and they were clean, showing no fractures. While this is a positive, lameness was still evident at a jog which caused Dr. James Hunt, Bill Mott’s veterinarian that he uses at Belmont, to do a block of Magical Ways’ left front condyle (the rounded end of the bone that sits in the joint and takes much of the impact when force is exerted). Once the block was done Magical Ways was jogged again and he was sound, leading to Dr. Hunt’s diagnosis of bone bruising. Magical Ways will be sent to Silver Springs in Kentucky where he will be reevaluated by Dr. Jeffrey Berk. As of now, Magical Ways will have a break for 60-90 days to ensure proper healing.
