Chasing Time Recap and Post Race

Chasing Time was sharp from the get-go on Saturday afternoon, breaking alertly and finding himself contesting the lead early on. Down the backstretch, your 4-year-old colt settled in second under jockey Joel Rosario as #1 Kneedeepinsnow came along the inside to take command setting fractions of 22.74 for the quarter and 45.87 for the half-mile. Chasing Time loomed with a nice bid in the turn and as they turned for home but unfortunately he could not change gears and remained steady in the stretch to finish third. The replay of the race can be found here. You will need to click the according date (Apr. 8) and race number (Race 4).

Chasing Time earned a co-career best Beyer Speed Figure, pairing an 89. Most importantly, he exited the race in good physical order according to the Asmussen barn. We will regroup with Steve and allow Chasing Time to get back into a routine training schedule following a few well-deserved days off. Looking ahead there is an allowance at Churchill Downs going seven furlongs on May 4th along with the Lake Hamilton Stakes going six furlongs on May 6th at Oaklawn.
