War Safe breezed five furlongs this morning on the inside of Treason. With jockey Luis Contreras aboard, War Safe stopped the clock in 1:01.00. Josie Carroll was happy to have Luis aboard as the rider knows the horse and was able to educate him to reengage when another horse looks him in the eye, which the trainer thought worked well today. In addition to her comments at the end of the video above, Josie also remarked on War Safe’s lack of gallop out as something that he just does and it isn’t concerning to her. Josie said we are close to getting War Safe back in the starting gate. The race we have in mind is a Maiden Special Weight going seven furlongs on the Tapeta at Woodbine on August 7th. We will have our paddock lottery available in the coming days for those interested in seeing War Safe’s return to the races.

War Safe breezed five furlongs in company with the unnamed 2-year-old filly out of Midnight Lucky on Sunday morning at Woodbine. Stopping the clock in 59.80 seconds, the Josie Carroll-trained duo had the bullet work on the day. Josie said that she instructed for a bit of a slower time, but her riders said both horses were moving comfortably and needed no urging to get to the wire. Josie added that War Safe came out of the work in good order and was a bit tired as he had lost some fitness during his gelding recovery.

We’re happy to report that War Safe has been galloping daily and continues to do well following his gelding procedure. Trainer Josie Carroll said the 3-year-old is now ready to resume breezing and likely will hit the worktab tomorrow or Sunday. We will report back with a workout update.

War Safe is back galloping at Woodbine and trainer Josie Carroll said she couldn’t be happier with the job the vets did at the clinic on his gelding. Josie said that War Safe had no complications while healing and her rider said he felt great when returning to the track. He will likely take a couple of more weeks before hitting the worktab, and we will look for a race once he returns to working.

War Safe has been enjoying his turnout time down south in sunny Florida. He is getting turned out 4-5 hours a day while at Woodford farms in Reddick, Florida just outside of Ocala.

He is scheduled to return to training while at Woodford farm on January 1st.

War Safe is currently en route to Woodford Farms in Ocala, Florida.

We will report back in the coming days once he has had time to settle in.

War Safe is continuing to do well at Silver Springs in Lexington and we’re moving closer to him joining Josie Carroll’s string at Woodbine in Canada.

Please enjoy this conformation photo of War Safe.

War Safe is a 2-year-old Ontario-bred colt by Air Force Blue out of Safe Haven. Currently training at Silver Springs in Kentucky, War Safe will join the barn of Josie Carroll at Woodbine Racetrack in the near future. War Safe has been developing nicely and has handled every step up in training well. We will continue to update you on his progress at Silver Springs and when he should ship to Josie and her team at Woodbine.
