Three Jewels is recovering well and is currently receiving turnout time in a small paddock at Dixiana Farms. Three Jewels will remain on turnout for the next 2-3 weeks before being reevaluated to see if he is ready to head back into training. When he is cleared to resume training, Three Jewels will ship over to Silver Springs Farm in Lexington.

Three Jewels’ surgery went well and he is recovering nicely. Dr. Wes Sutter performed the surgery on Thursday and removed chips in both front ankles arthroscopically. In the surgery report, Dr. Sutter noted that had the surgery not been performed, the debris would further deteriorate the bone over time. Following the surgery, Dr. Sutter gives Three Jewels a favorable prognosis for reaching the races. Three Jewels is currently at Dixiana Farm in Kentucky for his recovery and will be out of training for approximately two months. We will continue to update his partners while he is at Dixiana.

Three Jewels worked three furlongs over the weekend at Raul Reyes’ King’s Equine farm. Working in company with another of Raul’s 2-year-olds, Three Jewels was a handful on the outside. Raul said speed is not important at this stage of training, but rather ensuring everything is being done correctly. Raul has predicted that Three Jewels could be ready to head to Chad Brown in the beginning of May.

Three Jewels has been progressing while breezing ¼ miles at King’s Equine. Raul Reyes, farm owner and trainer, said that Three Jewels was a difficult horse to figure out in the beginning, but has stepped it up a bit while being paired with more advanced/challenging horses in his training. Three Jewels will continue with his lessons at King’s Equine before heading to trainer Chad Brown’s barn. Raul said it’s possible he would move on late-spring or early-summer to the racetrack.

In discussion with King’s Equine trainer and owner Raul Reyes Three Jewels is rapidly maturing into a very nice colt who is getting super fit and went through an impressive growth stage. Raul said Three Jewels is a very strong horse who right now is one of the top horses on the farm and that he’s excited to see him progress through this next stage of training. Raul will breeze Three Jewels an easy eighth of a mile down the lane this week and expects to pick up the pace with him in the coming weeks.
