Rosie’s Alibi has been doing well since shipping to Bruce Jackson at the Fair Hill Therapy Center. Since arriving she has gone through a series of chamber treatments and is scheduled to return to the track at Fair Hill in approximately a week. At that time, Bruce will ease her back into the swing of things but it should not take long before she begins galloping. Bruce wants to have the opportunity to scope her once or twice after a serious gallop or even some minor speed work to ensure we don’t have a repetitive issue.

Rosie’s Alibi shipped from Palm Beach Downs yesterday and arrived at Fair Hill Equine Therapy Center in good order. As previously mentioned, our plan is for her time here to be minimal in the grand scheme of things but during this time we will utilize the hyperbaric chamber given her recent EIPH episode. While her case was mild, the goal is to immediately try to treat and heal any damage to her lungs. In addition, Rosie previously dealt with stomach ulcers which was one of the reasons she spent an extended period at the farm last fall and winter. While we could perform another stomach scope, we know her history with these very well and the hyperbaric chamber should only benefit her from that end as well.

As Rosie’s Alibi continues preparations for what hopefully will be her career debut at Saratoga, we have some cool news on her family to share. Rosie’s older half-sister, Roses for Debra, became a stakes winner on July 18th at Presque Isle Downs by winning the Malvern Rose Stakes by 3 3/4 lengths. The 3-year-old daughter of Liams Map is a winner of 2 of 3 starts. Click here for the official Equibase race chart.

Rosie’s Alibi breezed over the turf for the first time this morning in company with Donegal Surges. The Todd Pletcher-trained 2-year-olds stopped the clock in 51.22 seconds. After the breeze, Todd said “This week was much better. After her breeze last week, I thought she struggled to find a hold of the dirt coming down the stretch. Today, she looked comfortable throughout the breeze and Adele never had to ask her to do much.” When asked about a possible race target, Todd thinks the Maiden Special Weight to be run at 1 1/16th miles on the turf on August 14th in Saratoga is good timing for her racing debut, pending all continues to go well with the filly’s training.

To give context to Rosie’s Alibi’s workout time today, she and her workmate were on the outside of the “dogs”, or cones, which were wider than usual due to heavy rain that fell yesterday afternoon. Rosie’s Alibi worked just after 10:15 today. Prior to that time, the turf course is open for stakes horses who are permitted to work inside the dogs.

Rosie’s Alibi is continuing to do very well at King’s Equine in Ocala, Fl. Raul Reyes, the owner and farm trainer at King’s Equine, said that Rosie’s Alibi is a very straightforward filly and easy to train. She’s up to galloping 1 1/8 miles and approaches her training in a very professional manner, including the beginning stages of her gate schooling. Raul added she is one of the sweeter horses at the farm and one he enjoys watching each morning.

Following shipping to King’s Equine, she received a brief freshening and break from her training. Rosie’s Alibi started back up jogging before moving onto galloping, which you can see above.

Due to a delay in shipping, Rosie’s Alibi shipped on Tuesday to King’s Equine in Ocala. Our Justify filly was up to galloping a half-mile daily at Silver Springs before her departure. We will follow up with an update in the coming days as to how she is settling into her new home.

Please enjoy this update from Kevin Noltemeyer, head trainer at Silver Springs Farm, on Essential Rose ’20. She has been under tack for the past few weeks, and Kevin is happy to report that she has handled every learning opportunity professionally. Our Justify filly is the bay horse, closest to the rail, that walks off the track first.

Essential Rose ’20 is continuing to develop nicely during the early days of her training at Silver Springs Farm. She is galloping a quarter of a mile each day and handling it very well. Please enjoy this video of Essential Rose ’20 coming off the track yesterday morning. She is the last of the three in the group.
