Mo Temptation has remained at Sunshine Farm as we have been finalizing her next steps. Through various conversations with different possible takers, we believe we have found a great home for her with Alfred Pais, owner of Brickyard Ride, who will be standing stud in 2025 at Rancho San Miguel. Brickyard Ride is a winner of over $900K and thirteen races.

We missed this breeding season, but Alfred is willing to carry her costs until next season, a win-win for all involved. The Series will not have to incur additional carry costs, he gets to secure a nice broodmare prospect for next year and Mo Temptation gets to enjoy the year at Rancho San Miguel before she moves onto her second career. Since he is willing to carry all of the costs, we agreed to complete the sale for $1.00, as those costs would likely exceed what we could expect her to bring at an auction some later in the year.

This filly always flashed some talent, but unfortunately she was unable to stay sound to prove what she was capable of on the racetrack, maybe that talent will be realized one day via her offspring. Now that the deal has been consummated, we will begin closing out the series and return any remaining funds in the reserve on a pro rata basis. This process should take no longer than 6-8 weeks. We will also make sure to get an update once she has settled in to her new home.

Mo Temptation breezed three furlongs this morning in :36.80 at San Luis Rey Downs. Assistant trainer Kim Marrs remains pleased as the training intensity has increased, reporting, “She has really woken up! Her knees are holding up good and I am thrilled with her training so far.”

We still have ways to go but all reports are positive to this stage

Mo Temptation breezed three furlongs on her own this morning at San Luis Rey Downs in a bullet 37.40 seconds (1/7). Everything remains in good order for your daughter of Mo Town as she continues her progression.

Mo Temptation was back on the worktab yesterday morning breezing five furlongs in 1:02.20 at San Luis Rey Downs. The 2-year-old daughter of Mo Town caught some company from another worker from the Dan Dunham stable. It was not the barn’s intent to breeze Mo Temptation in company, considering she missed last week’s breeze, but it ended up playing out well.

We will follow up with a progress report from trainer Doug O’Neill in the coming days.

Mo Temptation managed to scratch herself on an ankle this past week which naturally caused some inflammation, leading the O’Neill team to bypass this past weekend’s work. She was treated with antibiotics over the weekend and looks great now according to assistant trainer Kim Marrs. She has finished her round of antibiotics and is expected to return to the work tab this upcoming Saturday. Kim reported, “We’re getting close though, just some minor bumps along the way.”

We will report back after Mo Temptation breezes.

Mo Temptation continues to progress right along at San Luis Rey, breezing her first official five-eighth’s yesterday morning. The 2-year-old filly worked in company with stablemate Ami Please (Goldencents), who has run once before (sixth in a MSW during the Del Mar summer meet.) The duo covered the five furlongs in 1:01.40.

Team O’Neill remains pleased with our daughter of Mo Town. While she has made some significant progress from a fitness standpoint, she still has a little ways to go before being race ready. Mo Temptation will also start incorporating the gate more into her daily routine and likely have her first gate work in the coming weeks.
