Classic Cut has proven to be a very easy going and laid back colt in the early stages of his training, a trait that comes from his sire, Empire Maker. He is now galloping by himself everyday and jogs about three furlongs before galloping 1 1/4 miles daily.

You will notice in the video that Classic Cut is galloping clockwise, or the wrong way. Paul Sharp likes to alternate directions throughout the week with his horses to avoid too much stress occurring on one side of their body. Additionally, changing things up is good for the horse’s mind.

Please enjoy this video of Classic Cut training this weekend and hear what Paul Sharp has to say about our flashy colt.

Please enjoy these beautiful photos of Classic Cut (outside) at Paul Sharp’s farm in Ocala, FL. Our flashy colt has been galloping in company with MRH stablemate Tufnel, and the pair is doing everything right in the early stages of their training.

Classic Cut (outside) and Tufnel have spent many of their days at Paul Sharp’s farm training together. We love to see how in unison the duo has become while under tack.

Classic Cut is now up to galloping a half-mile daily at Silver Springs and continues to do well in his early training. Please enjoy this conformation photo of Classic Cut.

Classic Cut has been progressing nicely in his training since arriving at Silver Springs. Our young Empire Maker colt is very level-headed and calm when introduced to new training tactics. Classic Cut has begun walking through the gates as he begins learning the early stages of gate schooling. Walking horses through the starting gate helps to build their confidence and teaches them that there is nothing to fear once they are ready to start standing in the gate.
