Balletic had her first work at Palm Beach Downs on Sunday, breezing a half mile in company in 50.80 seconds. The work, which was timed by assistant trainer Anthony Sciametta and appears on Todd Pletcher’s website, is not recorded on Equibase as an official clocker was not in attendance that morning.

Sciametta reported that Balletic had a much stronger gallop out. Your filly will likely continue on a Sunday work schedule and begin to pick the pace up as the Championship Meet at Gulfstream Park inches closer.

Balletic breezed her first half mile in company with usual workmate Cuvier this morning at Monmouth Park. The duo stopped the clock in 50.80 seconds. Assistant trainer Anthony Sciametta explained the slower time was planned and that he was happy with the work. With this work being her first half mile, Balletic did tire some in the last furlong, but that is to be expected when a horse begins increasing their breezing distance. Balletic is still on schedule to ship on Wednesday morning to Palm Beach Downs where she will spend the winter months and point towards a career debut hopefully later this fall.

Balletic worked her second 3/8th’s of a mile this morning at Monmouth Park. The Into Mischief filly went in 37.80 seconds on the inside of stablemate Cuvier. The Pletcher barn has been pleased with what they’re seeing from Balletic so far and reported back that she’s currently doing everything within herself at the moment. Assistant trainer Anthony Sciametta, who oversees Todd Pletcher’s Monmouth string, reported, “I was very pleased with this work. I told my riders that if they felt good to let them gallop out this week and that’s exactly what they did. I think they galloped out better than the work.”

Balletic had her first officially recorded work on Equibase this morning at Monmouth Park. The daughter of Into Mischief covered three furlongs in 37.80 seconds. Last week’s quarter-mile breeze in 25.44 seconds was not considered official as Equibase typically only records works of three furlongs or longer.

Once we receive commentary on the breeze from the Pletcher barn, we will share the news in an update.

Balletic is back galloping daily, but unfortunately her mild colic a few weeks back put a curveball into our plan of having her ship to Todd Pletcher in New York in mid-July. Instead, Payton Training Center trainer Gerard Butler said that they will pick up Balletic’s schedule in the next couple of weeks to get her on track to head north. We don’t have a current timeline, but a later summer arrival in New York is probable.

With opening day just around the corner, we launched our “Lifestyle Collection” to help celebrate. We are thrilled to share our inaugural Saratoga Summer shirt and we just can’t get enough of it!

Farm Manager Gerard Butler reports that Balletic is moving along nicely in her jogging routine where she goes two miles each morning around the Payton Training Center track. On Monday she’ll begin galloping for 30 days before getting back to speed work.
