lways Hopeful’s half brother, Tulane Tryst, won an allowance race this afternoon at Churchill Downs. Tulane Tryst is a 3-year-old colt by Into Mischief and he won today’s race by 2 3/4 lengths. He is also trained by Cherie DeVaux and Always Hopeful’s jockey, Brian Hernandez Jr., rode Tulane Tryst to victory today.

Always Hopeful has officially been entered for his debut on Thursday. The six-furlong maiden special weight event is the ninth race on Churchill Downs’ Thanksgiving Day card. Always Hopeful drew post position 5 out of 14 and Brian Hernandez Jr. will be in the irons. The race carries a purse of $120,000 and post time is approximately 3:24 p.m. ET.

Desire Street 19 (outside) worked his first half-mile this morning under jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. He worked in company with his usual workmate, Midnight Hurricane (Midnight Storm). The duo covered the ground in 50:80, the 31st fastest out of 38 for the day. Being his first half-mile breeze, an easier time was instructed.
Desire Street 19 went into his breeze very aggressive and strong, but Brian was able to get him to relax off of his workmate and finish the work professionally. After the breeze, Brian complimented our 2-year-old colt, saying he feels like a really nice horse and worked lovely today, also mentioning how competitive he is.
