Always Hopeful had a walk day this morning at Keeneland, so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a photoshoot with the three-year-old son of Speightstown. He seemed to love the attention. Please enjoy these photos taken this morning.
A rather disappointing result in today’s allowance race at Horseshoe Indianapolis but one with good cause. After finishing 5th beaten by eight lengths by the race winner Adios Asher, Always Hopeful was found to have bled a 4 out of 5 on the grading chart (5 being the most significant). Based on the way the gelding had been training up to this race Always Hopeful’s performance became a little puzzling when he retreated so quickly coming to the quarter pole and failed to battle on. Always Hopeful does not have a history of bleeding and trainer Cherie DeVaux reported that hopefully this is an off occurrence and that she’ll treat him with some antibiotics and develop plans accordingly moving forward.
