Always Hopeful had a walk day this morning at Keeneland, so we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a photoshoot with the three-year-old son of Speightstown. He seemed to love the attention. Please enjoy these photos taken this morning.

We stopped by trainer Cherie DeVaux’s barn at Keeneland this morning and spent some time with Always Hopeful. Cherie was happy to report that he is doing well and that today was the gelding’s first day back galloping. We are waiting for a video of Always Hopeful’s return to galloping and will share it with owners once we receive it.

Always Hopeful had his last work ahead of his upcoming race on August 17th at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The 3-year-old son of Speightstown had the bullet work of the day at Keeneland, covering a half-mile in a blazing 46:40 seconds. Trainer Cherie DeVaux reported that Always Hopeful was consistent throughout his work and that he is ready to go for his next race.

We are thrilled to report that Always Hopeful is targeting an allowance race going five furlongs on the turf at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Wednesday, August 17th. Entries will be taken on Thursday, August 11th.

We will report back once entries have been taken.

Following Always Hopeful’s recent work, trainer Cherie DeVaux reached out to us expressing her excitement with his performance. Cherie reported “A much better breeze, half-mile in 48:40 seconds going steady all the way around. The first quarter of a mile in 24:80 seconds.”

Although it may have taken two works since his last race to see him relax this is a great sign that Always Hopeful is really starting to mature and just has natural speed!

Always Hopeful’s win yesterday. To skip forward to the good part (Always Hopeful’s race), start the video at 3:32:00 mark.

Following his maiden win, we received this adorable baby picture of Always Hopeful, which was taken shortly after he was born.

Always Hopeful, known as “Boogie” around the Cherie DeVaux barn, has been a barn favorite since day one, no matter where he is!

Always Hopeful worked three furlongs on Saturday at Keeneland in 36.00 seconds flat. Trainer Cherie DeVaux said that Always Hopeful was as relaxed as could be, which is great to see going into his return to the races.
