Blue Devil was not able to make much of an impact this evening at Lone Star Park over a very wet track. Click here for the chart and here for a replay.

It was a tough spot on paper, as evidenced by his 33-1 odds, and he was hung pretty wide throughout and just never got going. His lone prior outing over a wet track yielded a win at Saratoga and one of his best speed figures, so one would expect him to handle the slop, but he didn’t seem to be getting over it very well this time.

We’ll regroup and give Steve and his team some time to evaluate how he comes back. Blue Devil’s lack of conditions makes spotting a bit tough, but we’ll evaluate all options in the coming weeks and figure out what makes the most sense.
