Cumberland Falls Race Recap

Cumberland Falls ran too good to lose in tonight‘s finale at Churchill Downs. Breaking from the far outside, jockey Luan Machado was able to get over and save as much ground as possible, while settling in fourth down the backside. She always appeared to be traveling well and loomed up with a big run heading into the turn. Cumberland Falls took command of the lead at the top of the stretch and kicked on willingly. With a sixteenth of a mile to go there was one danger to hold off in #4 Lil Town Sis. The duo battled it out in the final stages with Cumberland Falls losing a heartbreaking photo.

Cumberland Falls was claimed for $20,000 out of today’s race (pending the post-race vet exam, etc.).
