Vow Workout Report
Vow (inside) worked a half mile from the gates yesterday morning with jockey Miguel Mena in the irons. She worked in company with an unraced 2-year-old. Vow went 3f in 36:60 and covered the half mile in about 49 seconds. Note that her workmate was only working three furlongs.
Trainer Al Stall Jr. and Miguel were both very pleased with yesterday’s work. Al said that we could see Vow in the entries toward the end of Keeneland. Otherwise she will debut during the fall meet at Churchill Downs. With Churchill Downs’ purses being so high, Keeneland might have slightly easier competition if connections are holding out for the money at Churchill Downs.
Miguel, who has breezed Vow a handful of times before, is very impressed with our 2-year-old filly’s speed out of the gates, saying she is “very fast.” Miguel has gotten to know Vow and all her quirks, and said the key with her is to not touch her mouth. With a longer rein, Vow was much better yesterday, as she wasn’t trying to run off, and galloped out strong.
Please enjoy this video from Vow’s work yesterday. When we have a better idea on a target race, we will post an update.
